Classifiers

The classifiers are the heart of Fidescls. The goal with classifiers is to be able to consume tabular data and determine the existence and type of PII that may be present in the data.

Classification Paradigms

For a holistic perspective, when it comes to attempting classification, there are two different classification paradigms considered; Context and Content.

Context Classification

Context classification can be used to take advantage of surrounding data (i.e. table and column names) to gain external perspective on data being classified.

Content Classification

Content classification can be used to detect and classify if an object itself is PII.
